Who we are

Chapel Hill EV (chapelhillev.com) is operated by Twin Suns Ventures LLC. We are a referral service: we help Carrboro-area homeowners get EV charger installation quotes from the licensed local electrician we refer you to. We don't do installations ourselves. This policy explains what we collect on this site, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you ask for a quote, the form collects:

• Your ZIP code, vehicle, and whether you have it yet (timing)
• Home details: where you'd charge (garage, detached garage or driveway), the distance from your electrical panel, roughly when the home was built, your electric company and the charger you want
• Your name, mobile number and email address
• Your agreement to be called or texted, with the exact wording you agreed to and the time
• The price estimate shown to you and the page you were on

When you browse the site, we and our analytics provider collect pages viewed, buttons and steps used (for example opening the quote form or tapping to call), the website or ad that referred you, campaign tags in the link you followed (such as utm_source or an ad click ID like gclid), and device, browser and approximate location data. Your browser also stores how you first found us (in local storage) so a later quote request can be credited to the right source.

We don't ask for payment details, and we don't knowingly collect sensitive information.

Why we use it

• To send your request to the licensed local electrician we refer you to so they can prepare your quote and contact you about it
• To follow up with you about your quote by phone, text or email, as you agreed
• To see which pages, searches and ads bring people to the site and improve it
• To prevent spam and abuse, and to keep records of consent and opt-outs
• To comply with the law

Calls and texts

The quote form asks you to agree to the following before you submit it:

I agree that Chapel Hill EV and the licensed electrician it refers me to may call or text me about my quote, including by automated means. Consent isn't a condition of purchase. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

Message frequency varies with your request. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, or get help by replying HELP. You can also ask us, or the licensed local electrician we refer you to, to stop calling you. Opting out doesn't affect a quote you've already received.

Who we share it with

• the licensed local electrician we refer you to, the installer partner for your area, receives your quote request and contact details. They handle your information under their own privacy practices once they have it. Chapel Hill EV may be paid for referrals.
• Service providers who run parts of the site for us, such as website hosting, form processing and email or text delivery, and only for that purpose.
• Google, through Google Analytics (see below).
• Others when required: to comply with the law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

Other than sending your request to the installer you asked to hear from, we don't sell or rent your personal information.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. It sets cookies and collects the browsing information described above, including an identifier for your browser. If we run Google ads, we may also use it to measure which ads lead to quote requests. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking or deleting cookies in your browser.

Your choices

• Texts: reply STOP to any text to opt out.
• Your data: email hello@chapelhillev.com to ask what we have about you, to correct it, or to remove it. We'll also have the licensed local electrician we refer you to remove it.
• Cookies and analytics: use your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on above. Clearing your browser's site data also removes the stored "how you found us" record.

How long we keep it

We keep quote requests for up to 24 months so we can answer questions about your request and keep records of consent, then delete them. We delete them sooner if you ask, unless we need to keep a record of your opt-out or are required by law to keep it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we can't guarantee it.

Children

This site is for homeowners and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe a child has sent us information, email hello@chapelhillev.com and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be posted on this page before they take effect.
